For party favors, we made superhero capes and masks that came in “TOP SECRET MISSION” boxes.  Each cape was personalized with initials on them.  Each box also came with a superhero badge for added fun! We found the ID badge printable here and just put them in plastic badge holders.

 

 

 

The kids got to be SUPERHEROES for a day (or two…according to their moms, some even wore them to Target the next day!)  It made it so worth the late nights sewing these together.  Thank you, Mdm. Zapata, my high school home economics teacher, for those lessons on how to hand-stitch pajamas!  Who knew they would come in handy one day!

Superhero Party Part 3: The Centerpieces

One thing you’ll realize about me is that I LOOOOVE candy buffets.  LOVE!  I think it’s must-have at every party.  You get to be really creative with the set-up, the candy colors, and also the candy names!  For Gavin’s party, I wanted it to serve 2 purposes: a candy buffet AND as centerpieces.  I wanted to create a “city-scape” full of candy and other party favors:

 

 

 

 

We gave the candy buffet “city-scape” a sort of 3-D effect by creating a city-scape backdrop and square plastic canisters.  The buffet included candy and favors like lollipops as “power pops,” “kryptonite” candy rocks, superhero temporary tattoos, pop rocks as “exploding rocks,” “invisibility capsules,” and “x-ray vision vitamins!”

We had paper bags at the end of the table for the kid’s and parents to fill with goodies from  this SUPER candy buffet.

Comic-book Style Superhero Party Part 2

One of the things you can’t do at Chuck E. Cheese’s (probably for a lot of venues) is hang decor from the ceiling or on the wall.  So I was ALMOST not going to use the comic book banner I made out of actual comic book paper.  Then I came up with a solution!  I floated 2 giant 36″ balloons (in blue and red with big white polka dots) on each end of the table and tied the ends of the banner to them to hang it across the table.  Because the paper was light enough, the balloons were able to dazzle quite nicely over the kids’ table.

 

Superhero Birthday Party {Comic book Style}

It was a long week of prepping for my son Gavin’s 4th birthday party.  He has been obsessed with the whole superhero thing (what 4 year old isn’t?) so of course I knew I had to throw a superhero themed birthday party for him.  We decided to incorporate all the superheroes- comic book style- and we held it at Chuck E. Cheese’s!  It’s a great place to throw parties in my opinion.  Their  birthday packages include everything– including set up and clean up!  It was the first party we had ever attended or held there.  I figured that he and his 4-year-old buddies from school would have a blast playing games, going on the rides, and climbing up and down the play area/jungle gym.  Their party package comes with “rock-star” themed party decor so I let them know I was bringing in m own supplies and decor and they were very accommodating.  It was nice to have Gavin’s party stand out since there were probably 10 other parties going on simultaneously in their huge open party area.  I was thrilled about how everything turned out… and I had the best time planning and hand-making most of his decor!  So here are some details and photos from his Superhero Comic-book Styled Party:

We started with the coolest birthday invitations from The Scrap Shoppe.  They were made to look like the front page of a newspaper which I thought was so unique.  I made these comic-book envelope to compliment them and tie-in the whole theme.  These invites also come with matching printable ‘Thank You’ cards which is double amazing!

A couple of months ago, Betsey of Betsey Darley Photography contacted me regarding a Construction party she was going to throw and all the fun details about it!  Needless to say, I was excited and on board!  You all saw the previous “sweet snaps” from her adorable  pink and orange party, right?  Well, here are more photos that you are surely going to “DIG!”

Sweet Snaps #5

I absolutely love it when customers send me photos from their parties and events!

It’s such a joy to see creativity + a love for celebrating + big smiles all come together!  I literally couldn’t stop smiling looking at these photos submitted by one of our sweet customers!  All I can say about her little one and her little one’s 1st birthday party is “PURE CUTENESS!”

I love how she used multiple 36 inch balloons (wild berry, wintergreen, lime green, red, and yellow)  to create the perfect backdrop so effortlessly!

Sweet Snaps Entry #4

A very dear customer of ours sent us some photos of a recent party she hosted.

Along with some photos, here’s what she said, “Just wanted to share with you pictures of the stuff I bought from your shop. They made my party very extra special and everyone is asking about them.”

Nothing makes my job sweeter than sweet, sweet words from customers.  Thank you so much!  Amazing job with your set up, Noura!

She coordinated Yellow Stars vintage-style paper straws with custom flags and her mason jars to give her beverages that extra oomph.

She used our Pink Cadillac Meal Boxes and Yellow Taxi Meal Boxes to serve her treats!  How sweet is this idea!

Product Testing

There’s no way to be able to ACCURATELY describe, analyze, critique, rate, or rave about a product until you’ve tested it out first-hand.  So, we decided to put one of our newest products, our Activity Paper Placemats for kids, to the test with one of the smartest, toughest, most-thorough inspectors out there!  Here’s how it went down:

Mr. Inspector, Age 3, sat down at the table in front of the placemat.  With his colored-pencils in hand, he began this intense and rigorous testing process.

I think we have a winner! Our Activity Paper Placemats have passed the test!
