Whether it’s the pretty teal color or the appeal of its versatility, fiber berry baskets have become a very popular craft and party supply. The obvious use for these baskets would be to fill with fresh fruits and serve to get that lovely “fresh from the farmer’s market” feel. But there are a plethora of other genius uses for them.
Eighteen 25 put together the cutest gift basket for Teacher Appreciation Day and Mother’s Day! I love how they went with the berry theme using Bath & Body Works Strawberry soaps, lotions, and car scents.
Bake at 350 baked the most delightful looking strawberry cookies (and I’m sure they’re as delicious as they look) and with some wax paper lining and some wonderful berry baskets, made them look like they were picked fresh farm the berry farm! My Name is Snicker Doodle made some Snicker doodles and gave them to friends in berry baskets.
My Life at Playtime features a backyard movie night, complete with a milk station and… S’mores!!! What really caught my attention was how they served the S’mores for the kids! Brilliant!

Thoughtfully Simple features salads served in easy to grab portions! What a refreshing idea! This is definitely happening at my next party!
Anthropologie showcases their dish towels in decorative packaging using them too!

Gifts for mom don’t need to be expensive and over the top. As a mother, I know that the thought does always count more than the price tag. My 3-yr. old son came home from school the other day with a Mother’s day card he made and it’s taken center stage on our fridge. It’s the little, heart-felt, handmade things that touch mom’s heart.
Need more handmade gift ideas for mom? Here are some of my personal favorite handmade gifts from other sweet Etsy shops to show mom you love and appreciate her:

I carry your heart with me
(I carry it in my heart)

Everywhere you turn, these cute and decorative tapes are on every store shelf and every scrapbooking kit these days! You may have even already acquired some of your own but have no idea what to do with them! Well, don’t fret, I’ve taken on the challenge of finding all the pretty little ways to play with washi tape! I won’t lie, I have a stash of my own and I can’t get enough of the them. Who would’ve thought that a concept so simple as printed tape could do wonders?
Here are my top 10 favorite washi crafts:
1. Tape bow. Use washi tape to wrap gifts! You dont need any ribbons… not even wrapping paper! Just washi. Look how brilliant! (Found on Omiyage.)
2. The Well Appointed Desk, Paper Buzz, and Delightful created a unique way to seal envelopes and packages. You can spruce up envolopes and plain packages by sealing them with washi. Turn all your mail into something fun.
3. Washi bunting. Yes, the incredible washi tape can also be used for bunting! Just a few feet of twine or string and some color coordinated tape can make for adorable bunting! (Poppy Talk, Polka Dot Lighthouse, Dimple Prints).
4. Swizzle sticks. A.k.a Drink stirrers. Is there anything washi tape can’t do?
6. Flower Vases. Pretty flowers need pretty vases to hold them in. Here’s another simple idea by Weddings by Lilly… and she’s using my absolute favorite colors, mint and peach!
8. Washi Twistie Ties. L-O-V-E this idea! I, actually, have been using washi for this purpose of wrapping our products at Ceferina Sweet and it works GREAT! It’s so simple but it adds such a lovely touch to packaging the items we sell. (Also seen in Free Time Frolics and Organize Your Stuff Now)
9. Washi Cake Stands. Those white porcelain cake stands are pretty, dainty and all things sweet… and I am OBSESSED with them! But every once in a while, change it up! Make them fun by lining them with washi tape as seen in Homemade by Jill.
10. Stickers. How brilliant is Allison from Little Lovelies? She makes her own stickers with Washi tape!
Hope you enjoyed this post and are inspired to get crafty with Washi tape!
By the time I’m done posting this, I will have worked up the biggest appetite! Here are some of the cutest edible Easter ideas for tomorrow’s Easter feast. Deviled eggs as seen in Pretty Prowler, Baby carrots with hummus served in little clay pots by LRF, hand-dipped strawberries in orange chocolate as seen in Handmade Charlotte, Caramel popcorn with M&Ms spring mix as seen in Punch Folk, Peeps S’mores as seen on Indulgy, Cake with Bunny bunting by Lifestyle Crafts, an eye-catching Speckled Egg Cake as seen on The Cake Blog, and this darling Pink Bunny Cake found via Flickr (because there’s no such thing as too much cake!)
Have a Hoppy Weekend!
This is my first time blogging… EVER… and so this is all very new to me! But I figured it was time that Ceferina Sweet found its creative outlet and shared its “going-ons!” I’ll start by introducing myself to everyone. My name is Shannon Ceferina, in the medical field by day, working on my party planning at night (although I am a party enthusiast day and night), and on mommy duty 24/7. My love for art, whether it be drawing, scrapbooking, or creating unique and personalized gifts, has always been an escape for me. But it wasn’t until I started planning for my own wedding that I realized how much I loved creating things geared towards celebrations! Everything in my wedding, from the wedding programs to the centerpieces, was handmade. This passion for party planning blossomed even more after planning my son’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd birthday parties. Oh, it was over! I knew I had to do something that allowed me to share my love for parties. And so, Ceferina Sweet was launched in December 2012. Ceferina Sweet is a little shop on Etsy where you can find all the cutest and sweetest party supplies you need to host and create amazing and unforgettable parties. You can read more in the “About” section of our blog or please feel free to stop by the shop anytime at https://www.etsy.com/shop/CeferinaSweet.
To me, ANY reason to tell someone they are loved or show that an occassion is special should be a party… like a birthday, a baby shower, a baby gender reveal party, a bridal shower, a wedding, an anniversary, a graduation, a party of two celebrating Valentine’s day over a nice home-cooked dinner, even a “just because” party. There are so many ways to make these occassions even SWEETER and more memorable just to show your loved ones that they are SO worth it! There are many reasons in LIFE to celebrate!
Here, I hope to share precious party-finds and ideas that I come across. I want to showcase what’s new in the shop, walk you through some fun and easy DIY party projects, introduce note-worthy friends in the party world, and keep you posted on party-related events. Whether you are a host or a party-goer, I hope my blogs inspire you in some way.
Happy Partying everyone!
